Artists in Public Schools at EXPO CHICAGO 2026

Artists in Public Schools is proud to present work from our residency program for its 6th year at EXPO CHICAGO’S contemporary art fair from April 9th-April 11th. Make sure to stop by booth 409 at Navy Pier to see original work by resident artists Juan Baños and Jonathan Michael Castillo. You can find a list of Jonathan’s work and price list here .

We have a big week of programming coming up, including a booth talk with our artists on April 11th at 12pm, as well as a Dialogues panel discussion we are cohosting with The Obama Presidential Center on April 12th at 11:30am. The discussion will be moderated by our Executive Director Suzette Bross, with AiPS alumni artist Norman Teague, curator of public programs for the Obama Presidential Center Mariam Thiam, and AiPS Alumni artist Dorian Sylvain. Also, while you are at the fair, you can stop by the Lobby 2 entrance near the Sable Hotel to see more work by our artists as well as the CPS students who inspire them!

Artists in Public Schools creates artist residencies in Chicago Public Schools (CPS), providing expansive art making experiences for students, educators, and professional Chicago-based artists. Working together with a collaborative, community-focused mindset, we celebrate and widely share the unique stories of CPS students and schools through art and creativity. When the arts and aesthetics are integrated into education, work, and life, we strengthen our capacity to learn. Creating something is at the core of learning.
