Marketing Director (Part-Time, Remote)

20 hours / week @ $40 / hour

Role Summary: The Marketing Director leads the organization’s marketing and communications initiatives. The Marketing Director will work closely with the Executive Director and team members to create and execute marketing strategies that promote the organization’s mission and programs. The successful candidate will have a passion for storytelling, a talent for creating engaging content, and a track record of driving successful marketing campaigns.

Social Media Management (35%)

  • Manage the organization’s social media channels, including creating and publishing content, engaging with followers, and monitoring analytics.
  • Create and manage a robust social media calendar
  • Collaborate with artists to manage social media takeovers.

Content Creation (25%)

  • Create and curate content for the organization’s website, social media channels, email campaigns, and print collateral that tells the story of Artists in Public Schools and its impact on Chicago Public Schools.
  • Collaborate with artists, designers, thinkers, and makers to develop creative campaigns and initiatives that align with the organization’s mission and values.

Graphic Design (25%)

  • Design print materials such as flyers and email campaigns to promote brand awareness for programmed events, including fundraisers, exhibitions, and other public events.
  • Manage and edit digital marketing assets including newsletters, ensuring they are compelling and relevant.

Marketing Strategy (10%)

  • In collaboration with other staff, develop and implement the organization’s marketing and

communications plan to increase brand awareness, engage target audiences, and drive conversions.

  • Design and implement an integrated outreach calendar that includes dates for print mailings, other forms of print communications, and a social media calendar.
  • Update organizational Style Guide as needed

Analytics (5%)

  • Record, analyze, and interpret data from Google Analytics and other relevant metrics to improve the organization’s marketing strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications,
  • At least 5-7 years in marketing management with managerial experience; agency experience a plus,
  • Fluency in website CMS and marketing automation tools,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Strong organizational and project management skills,
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team,
  • Passion for promoting the value of arts and public education in Chicago.
